The high ground for home-service trades · Starting with NRV roofers

Quit renting

from Angi.

Ridgeby puts you on high ground. Your website. Your phone number. Your Google ad account. Your customer list. Your AI answering the phone at 2 a.m. so the $12,000 roof job doesn't roll to voicemail while the shared-lead crowd bids on scraps. Roofers first, in the New River Valley. Plumbers, HVAC, and electricians next.

  • You own the assets. Website, domain, ad history, and every post stay yours — forever.
  • Every call answered live — 2 a.m., Sunday, Christmas Eve. No voicemail.
  • Exclusive leads. Never shared, never resold, never a bidding war.
  • 3 real inspections in 90 days — or you owe us nothing more.
Based in Pulaski, VA · Serving the entire NRV & western Virginia
Founding NRV client offer: 3 real inspections in 90 days — or you owe nothing more. You're one of our first four New River Valley roofers. Lock $497/mo for life (standard rate becomes $997). We build in 21 days. If in 90 days your system hasn't produced at least 3 real homeowner inspections traceable to what we built, you owe us nothing more. Everything published in your name stays with you — your website, your domain, your hosting, every blog post, every Facebook and LinkedIn post, every Ridge Report episode, your Google Ads account, and your Google Business Profile. We hand you the logins. You'll cover your own domain renewal (~$15/yr) and hosting (~$15/mo) from that point forward. What ends when the contract does: AI answering, your CRM dashboard, call tracking numbers, and ongoing content production. Grounded in 2026 industry data: small roofers (1–2 crews) average 4–8 signed jobs/month at $8K–$15K each. 3 inspections in 90 days is a floor, not a ceiling.
Sound familiar?

You're a good roofer with a leaky funnel.

Every roofer in the NRV works six days a week and still watches half their leads slip through the cracks. Not because you can't roof — because you can't be on the phone during the exact 90 seconds a homeowner calls three roofers to compare.

1

Half your calls go to voicemail

You're on a roof, driving, or sleeping. She calls you, hits voicemail, calls the next name on Google. She's a paying customer for someone else in the next 4 minutes.

2

Angi sells the same lead 5 times

You pay $80 for a "lead," so do four other roofers. She books whoever calls first with the lowest price. You just paid $80 to lose.

3

Your website was built in 2018

Slow on a phone. Ugly on a phone. Phone number isn't tappable. Google Ads sends people there, they bounce in 6 seconds. The clicks you paid for evaporate.

Why the name matters

Every other agency fights on somebody else's ground.

Angi rents you leads you don't own. Google Ads bids you into a war you didn't start. HomeAdvisor sells your "exclusive" lead to four other roofers. Every one of them controls the terrain — they own the customer, set the rules, keep the phone number, and rent access back to you every month.

That's low ground. You'll pay a toll to fight there for as long as you're in business.

Ridgeby puts you on high ground. Your website. Your domain. Your hosting. Your ad account and every dollar of history in it. Your Google Business Profile. Every blog post, social post, and podcast episode we publish in your name. When you cancel, all of that stays yours.

From the ridge you see the storm before your competitors do. You control the approach. Nobody rents you access to your own customers.

What Ridgeby actually does

One system. Five moving parts. Zero busywork for you.

We're not selling you software. We build the pipeline, run it every month, and hand you booked inspections. You keep doing what you're good at — roofing.

A 24/7 answering service that never sleeps.

Every call your business gets — 2pm on a Wednesday, 11pm on a Sunday, Christmas morning — is answered live inside three rings. A conversational AI voice agent, trained on your services and prices, qualifies the homeowner (job type, roof age, insurance vs. cash, timeline, ZIP), books them right onto your calendar, and texts you the full transcript before you're back down the ladder. Any call it can't handle warm-transfers straight to your cell. Any call that slips past it gets an SMS inside 60 seconds: "Hey — sorry we missed you. Text me your address and I'll get back inside an hour."

A website homeowners actually convert on.

Mobile-first, loads in under 2 seconds, tap-to-call phone number stuck to the bottom of every screen, quote form that works with one thumb. Built to book jobs, not win design awards.

Google Ads dialed in for your ZIPs.

Ads only inside your service radius. Only for high-intent searches ("roof replacement," "storm damage roof repair," "leak in attic"). Only during hours you can actually work. Every click tracked. You own the ad account.

Local SEO — page by page, city by city.

A dedicated page for Blacksburg, Radford, Salem, Christiansburg, Rocky Mount, Bristol — each one built to rank when a homeowner in that town Googles "roofer near me." Google Business Profile fully wired. Reviews auto-requested after every job.

A blog that makes your name the answer on Google.

Two roofing articles a month, published to your site with your byline — real answers to the questions NRV homeowners are typing right now ("how long does a roof last in Virginia," "insurance vs. cash roof replacement," "storm damage — what do I do first"). Written to rank on Google Search so you're the first name a homeowner sees before they ever type "Angi." Your name shows up everywhere a customer researches roofing in the New River Valley. You own every post.

Optional add-on: we also syndicate each post to your Facebook Page and LinkedIn — ask on the call.

Every call, every lead, in one dashboard on your phone.

You see how many calls came in this week, what each one wanted, which ZIP, which ad group. You see appointments on the calendar, quotes out, jobs won. No mystery, no "trust me it's working." Real numbers you can pull up between roofs.

See it in action

Here's what the AI does when a homeowner calls at 9:47pm.

This is what happens on a Tuesday night in Blacksburg when a homeowner sees water dripping through her ceiling and Googles "roofer near me." Every Ridgeby client's system catches this call live.

AI
Rockbridge Roofing, this is Sam — how can I help with your roof tonight?
Homeowner
Hi — um, I have water coming through my kitchen ceiling. It's pretty bad. Is anyone available?
AI
I'm sorry to hear that, we can definitely help. Can you tell me your address and roughly when you first noticed the water?
Homeowner
1247 Toms Creek Road in Blacksburg. It started about an hour ago right after the rain got heavy.
AI
Got it — 1247 Toms Creek, Blacksburg. Is water still actively coming in? And do you know roughly how old the roof is?
Homeowner
It slowed but yes, still dripping. Roof is about 18 years old, I think original.
AI
Okay — at 18 years an asphalt roof is at end of life, especially after tonight. I'd like to get one of our team out first thing tomorrow morning to tarp it and give you a full assessment. Would 8:30 or 10:00 AM work better?
Homeowner
8:30 would be great. Should I put buckets down tonight?
AI
Yes — buckets and towels, and move anything electronic away from the leak. You're booked with our team at 8:30 AM tomorrow. I'm also texting you a confirmation with the tech's name and cell. What's your name for the appointment?
Homeowner
Sarah Miller. Thank you so much.
AI
You're welcome, Sarah. We'll see you at 8:30. Hang in there.
Inspection booked · Owner notified · No callback needed

Illustrative only. Names, address, and job value are fabricated to demonstrate the AI voice agent's booking flow. We'll replace this with real client transcripts (with permission) once we have them.

While the owner was already asleep.

The roofer went to bed at 9pm — long day tearing off a job in Christiansburg. He woke up to a text at 6:15am with the full transcript, an inspection already on his calendar for 8:30, and a $14,800 job to write a quote on before lunch.

In the old world he sees a missed call in the morning, calls Sarah back at 8am, learns she already had someone out at 7am and signed. He doesn't even get the chance to bid. Multiply that by 10–15 calls a month and it's the difference between adding a crew and treading water.

Why speed matters: Companies that respond to a new lead within 5 minutes are 21x more likely to qualify that lead than companies responding after 30 minutes. AI answering makes response time zero. Source: InsideSales / MIT lead-response research, cited in 2026 roofing marketing benchmarks.
The real math

You're already paying more — for worse leads.

Almost every roofer we talk to is spending more each month on Angi, HomeAdvisor, or a piecemeal setup than Ridgeby costs — and getting shared leads or missed calls instead of booked inspections.

"Typical roofer today" reflects 2026 industry benchmarks: roofing lead costs run $75–$250/lead ($222 Local Services Ads, $187 Google Ads, $30–$80 Facebook), and 79% of leads never convert without structured follow-up. Built where you work

We're in Pulaski. We know the NRV.

Ridgeby is a New River Valley operation, not a national agency running your ads from a call center in Utah. We know Blacksburg buyers behave differently than Bristol buyers. We know August hail in Roanoke is a different job than March wind in Wytheville. We know Franklin County homeowners search on Facebook first. Local means we can actually show up.

How we launch you

From "yes" to booked inspections in 21 days.

1

Day 1–3 · Intake

One 45-minute call. We learn your services, prices, service ZIPs, insurance experience, warranty terms, and the way you actually talk to homeowners. The AI voice agent trains on all of it.

We build your new website, wire up the AI answering service, set up your Ridgeby client dashboard, configure your Google Business Profile, and stand up the Google Ads campaign structure.

3

Day 14–18 · Test

You call the number yourself and stress-test the AI. Emergency leak. Insurance claim question. Impatient homeowner. Ask a human. If anything sounds off, we retune before a single homeowner calls.

4

Day 18–21 · Launch

Ads go live, phone tracking starts, missed-call SMS is armed. Within 72 hours you see the first calls come in on your dashboard. From there, we optimize weekly.

Hail season starts March. Setup takes 21 days.

The questions roofers actually ask us

Before you book the call.

My cousin / nephew / a guy I know built my site already. Why replace it?

If your current site loads fast on a phone, has a giant tap-to-call button on every screen, converts 8%+ of homeowner visits into calls, and is wired to a lead system, keep it — we'll wire the AI answering and ads to it instead of replacing it. If it's not doing that, replacing it is usually cheaper than trying to fix it. We'll tell you honestly which on the audit call.

I tried Google Ads once. Burned $2K, got nothing. Why is this different?

Almost every roofer who tells us this ran ads without three things: a landing page built to convert (yours went to a homepage), someone to answer the phone the ads generated (you were on a roof), and negative keywords to filter out DIY searches and job-seekers. We build all three before a dollar of ad spend goes live. If you already have your own Google Ads account with campaign history, we start by fixing what's there instead of starting over — cheaper for you.

Who actually answers when a homeowner calls at 11pm?

A conversational AI voice agent, custom-trained on your services, prices, service ZIPs, and appointment calendar. It qualifies the caller, books them on your calendar for the next open inspection slot, and texts you the full transcript within a minute. When the call needs your voice — active leak, insurance question the AI shouldn't guess on, or the caller just asks for a human — it warm-transfers to your cell. If you don't pick up in 20 seconds it takes a callback request and pages you.

Won't AI answering sound like a robot and lose me the customer?

The 2020 AI answering services did. The 2026 ones — the ones we build on — sound like a receptionist. Handles pauses, interruptions, and small talk naturally. But you shouldn't take our word for it: on your call, we'll call your current business number so you hear what a homeowner hears now, then call the setup we'd build for you so you can compare. If you'd rather not use the AI at all, we can wire the missed-call SMS piece by itself — you keep answering the phone, and the SMS just catches the ones you can't.

Who owns the website, the phone number, and the ad account when we're done?

You do. Always. The Google Ads account is opened in your name on your credit card, the domain is registered to you, and the website is built on hosting we transfer to your account when you leave. Every blog post, Facebook post, LinkedIn post, and Ridge Report episode published in your name is yours to keep — logins handed over, exports on request. The one thing that doesn't come with you when you cancel is our ongoing services: 24/7 AI call answering, the CRM dashboard, call tracking numbers, and ongoing content production. Those keep running only while you're a client, because we pay the platforms and the crew that operate them. Every one of those is available as a stand-alone monthly service if you ever want to bring it back.

What exactly do I keep if I cancel?

You keep everything published in your name. Your website (we transfer the hosting to your own account — running about $15/mo). Your domain (you cover the ~$15/yr renewal going forward). Your Google Ads account and every dollar of campaign history — it was always in your name. Your Google Business Profile with all its reviews, photos, and local rankings. Every blog post published on your site with your byline. Every Facebook and LinkedIn post published to your Pages. Every Ridge Report episode already live on Spotify and Apple stays under your show.

What ends when the contract ends is the services we operate for you: 24/7 AI voice answering, your CRM dashboard, call tracking numbers, and ongoing content production (new blog posts, new social posts, new podcast episodes). Each of those is available as a stand-alone monthly service if you ever want to keep one without keeping the full bundle — ask on the call.

Who owns the podcast episodes, blog posts, and social posts if I leave?

You do. Every post is published under your business name, on Pages and channels you own the login to. When you cancel, nothing gets taken down. The Ridge Report show stays live on Spotify and Apple under your account. Blog posts stay on your site. Social posts stay on your Pages. What stops is new content production — no new posts get scheduled after the last billing cycle. If you want to keep new episodes going without the full Ridgeby package, we can quote the podcast as a stand-alone service.

How do you know 3 inspections in 90 days is realistic — why not more, why not less?

2026 industry data (KMF Business Advisors) shows small roofers running 1-2 crews average 4-8 signed jobs/month at $8K-$15K each. Inspections run 2-3x signed jobs, so a normal small roofer books 10-20 inspections/month once a system is running.

3 inspections in 90 days is intentionally a floor — a number we can hit even in a slow winter month with modest ad spend. It's the point where we're confident enough to put our fee behind the promise. Anything above that is upside, and roofers who hit the floor in month 1 usually see 8-15 inspections/month by month 4 as SEO and reviews compound. If we set the number at 10 in 60 days we'd be promising something outside our control (your close rate, your service radius, seasonality). 3 in 90 days we can control.

What happens if I have a slow month later on?

Dial ad spend down or pause it entirely for a month, then dial back up when work picks up. The AI answering, dashboard, and website all keep running either way at the same $497/mo. The one thing we won't do is trap you in a 12-month contract to fake commitment — you're month-to-month with 30 days notice, always.

How different is this from Angi, HomeAdvisor, or Networx?

Angi sells the same lead to 4–5 roofers, all racing to call her first. Ridgeby builds your own website, your own ad account, and your own AI answering — so leads come only to you and only your business gets the call. Most roofers we onboard cut Angi to zero within their second month with us.

Who pays for the Google Ads spend itself?

You — directly to Google, on your own credit card, in an ad account you own. We recommend starting at $500–$1,500 a month depending on your service area size, and we scale up only after we see it working. This is a feature, not a bug: you always see exactly what's spent, and when you leave us the ad account and its history stays with you.

Do you work with commercial roofers, or just residential?

Both, though residential is where our system generates the most volume. Commercial roofing works best with a mix of Google Ads plus targeted outreach — happy to walk you through it on the call.

Why "first 4 NRV roofers"?

We're building case studies in the NRV market and we need referenceable local results before we scale. Founding clients get: (1) $497/mo locked for life instead of the standard $997 that starts once we've onboarded our first four, (2) no $1,500 setup fee, (3) direct access when things need to move fast, (4) the keep-everything-in-90-days guarantee. In return we ask for a testimonial and permission to reference the results (never the ad numbers, never anything sensitive). That's the trade.

15 minutes. No pitch. Just numbers on your business.

On the call, we'll call your current business number so you hear how it sounds today, run the numbers on what your funnel is actually leaking, and tell you honestly whether Ridgeby is a fit. If we're not, we'll tell you what would be.
